"Through the Looking Glass" is a journey of discovery, a whimsical tale, and a Baroque reverie that plunges spectators of all ages into the fascinating backstage world of the 17th and 18th centuries. Through the curious eyes of a child, history comes to life in the heart of the Château de Prangins. A young Alice, bored in a castle-turned-museum, suddenly sees the walls stir with life. She is about to embark on an extraordinary experience: learning the steps of the Minuet for a royal ball, exploring the nuances of femininity with a spirited courtesan, or discovering botany in a French-style garden alongside a colourful gardener.
Three actor-dancers tell this story with mischief, accompanied by musicians playing on period instruments. This performance is an open door to history, where the rigidity of the past gives way to the magic of the moment. Following the show, a special exchange allows students to talk with the artists, discover the secrets of ancient instruments, and even try a few Baroque dance steps. A convivial, touching moment overflowing with whimsy!
