Biography
French-German mezzo-soprano and violinist Esther Fischer-Barnicol trained in violin at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel before completing a master's in voice in Leuven (2024). She has refined her artistry with Philippe Herreweghe and Dorothee Mields, among others. Passionate about the baroque repertoire and ensemble music, she has sung Dido and the Sorceress in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and the alto solo in Bach's St John Passion, and will soon sing the alto solo in Michael Haydn's Requiem. She performs as both singer and violinist with the Ensemble Anchor.
