Biography
Italian-Israeli soprano Mayan Rachel Goldenfeld has been a soloist at Theater Bielefeld since the 2023/24 season. Celebrated for her vocal prowess, musicality, and magnetic stage presence, she is a versatile performer whose repertoire spans from opera to theater. Her notable roles include Rossini's Ninetta, Mozart's Zerlina, and the title role in Valtinoni's "Alice im Wunderland."
With a deep passion for early music, she regularly collaborates with esteemed ensembles such as I Gemelli and La Petite Bande, working with specialists like Sigiswald Kuijken. In 2022, she co-founded the early music duo Sull’onde, which won the prestigious Bärenreiter Prize at the Göttingen Handel Competition. Mayan holds degrees from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music and Brooklyn College Conservatory, with advanced specializations in early music from Mainz and Berlin.
