Marion Vergez-Pascal

Mezzo-soprano

Marion Vergez-Pascal discovered singing at the age of 11 while singing in a children’s choir in the Basque Country. She joined the children’s choir of the Conservatoire de Pau under the direction of Pascale Verdier. At the age of 14 she joined the Maîtrise de Radio-France and sang for 3 years in various Radio-France productions under the baton of Sofi Jeannin, Kurt Masur, Daniele Gatti in the greatest Parisian halls.

After studying classical literature, she joined the Superior Department for young singers in 2014 and worked there with Florence Guignolet. In 2018, she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Alain Buet and then Elène Golgevit, and benefited from the advice of Anne Le Bozec and Jeff Cohen.

In April 2019 she sings the role of Zefka in Janáček’s Diary of a Missing Person at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, and is invited in May and June 2019 to sing as a soloist Mozart’s Requiem with the Chorus of the Orchestra of Pau under the direction of Pascale Verdier. And September 2019, she is selected as a Young Talent for the prestigious Bel Canto Academy of the IVC Competition in Holland at S’Hertogenbosch.

For 2020, she is Laureate of the Académie des Frivolités Parisiennes and will perform again on the stage of the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in the educational show Help! directed by Franck Krawczyk. She will be heard in the role of Annio in l’Affaire Clemenza (loosely based on Mozart’s Clemence de Titus) at La Seine Musicale in June 2022.

Marion regularly collaborates with the Ensemble du Palais Royal (conductor J.P. Sarcos) with whom she is making a series of lyrical videos at the Petit Palais (February 2021), and with whom she will be singing a French programme alongside Kévin Amiel and Adrien Fournaison in July 2021. She will perform during the musical season of the Théâtre des Sablons in Neuilly with Simon Adda-Reyss, in a programme around Victor Hugo, in November 2021.

In March 2022, Marion will be Sterling in Maurice Yvain’s operetta Là - Haut at the Théâtre de l’Athénée with the Frivolités Parisiennes. She is sponsored by the Meyer Foundation.
