Carlos Bertão, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1987, is a bassoonist specializing in historical instruments. He was engaged as bassoonist at the Theatro Municipal de Rio de Janeiro and the National Symphony Orchestra of Brazil, where he acquired solid experience in symphonic and operatic music.

Based in Geneva from 2018, he plays with ensembles such as OSR, Gli Angeli Genève, La Fontana Cantabile and Concerto Scirocco. In 2022, he took part in the creation of the show Edipo re, based on unpublished opera seria pieces collected in Italian archives, with the research project Pasticcio alla napoletana tutored by Leonardo García Alarcón.
