Xianmei Fang began her musical education both in organ and piano in 2011, at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In 2023, she started studying at Mozarteum University in Salzburg, with Professor Hannfried Lucke for organ, and with Professor Florian Birsak for harpsichord.
She has received numerous awards at international competitions, including first prize at the 2021 Singapore International Piano Competition as well as first prize in the Debussy category, or the Grand Prize at the 2nd Pacific Rim Piano Competition, which led to an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York.
In 2024, Xianmei Fang was awarded the prestigious Förderpreis from the International Summer Academy at the Mozarteum University, a prize sponsored by the City of Salzburg to promote excellence in the arts. That same year, she was invited to perform organ at the opening ceremony of the Salzburg Festiva, as well as a solo organ recital at the prestigious “Großer Saal” of the Stiftung Mozarteum in Salzburg.
