Jana Palac was born in Zagreb, 2002. She began playing the violin at the age of seven at the Elly Bašić Music School in Zagreb. She is currently a fourth-year violin student at the Academy of Music University of Zagreb, under the guidance of Professor Leonid Sorokow. This academic year, she is studying at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar through the Erasmus exchange program, under Professor Lorenzo Lucca.
Both as a soloist and chamber musician, Jana Palac has won several prizes in numerous national and international competitions including HDGPP competition, Rudolf Matz, or Musical Lace.
She has appeared as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles, including prestigious Croatian groups like the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, Zagreb Philharmonic, or Croatian Chamber Orchestra. Notable performances include appearances at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings, as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, the RBK Classical Music Festival in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with Split Virtuosi, Alte Oper Frankfurt with the Gotha Philharmonie Orchestra.
Jana Palac has always been interested in baroque music and has been introduced to baroque playing by her professor Laura Vadjon.
